Dating back as far as the 1930s during the Great Depression, in the Fort Davis area and throughout the WWII years at Kelly Field, G.W. Mitchell Construction answered the call to build numerous projects for the U.S. Government. Subsequent to that time, Mitchell has focused more on building much needed municipal facilities for the City of San Antonio, Bexar County and the surrounding communities. Some examples of these projects include the expansion of the Hemisphere Arena, a new municipal complex for the City of Garden Ridge, a state of the art first responder facility (San Antonio Fire Station No. 51) as well as a wonderfully designed renovation and addition to the historic Terrell Hills Municipal Complex. In total, Mitchell has completed over 500,000 square feet of government and municipal projects with a value of over $110 million.
